When you request counselling with Alongside Counselling or otherwise provide your personal details to me, you will have provided informed consent to my processing of your data under the terms of this policy.
Alongside Counselling is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), any personal data provided by you through any means (verbal, written, in electronic form, or by your use of this website) will be held and processed in accordance with the data protection principles set out within the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), informed by the Data Protection Act 2018.
Your Rights
You have the right to ask me to provide a copy of the information held by me. You also have the right to require me to correct any inaccuracies in your information. You may do either of these, by contacting me at mel@alongsidecounselling.co.uk
You may withdraw your consent for me to hold and process your data at any time. However, if you do this while actively receiving counselling your counselling would have to end. You can withdraw your consent by emailing mel@alongsidecounselling.co.uk
To afford you the right to access your data, and in line with ICO requirements, your data is retained by Alongside Counselling as follows:
Data collected for the purposes of Alongside Counselling service enquires will be retained for 30 days following the satisfactory resolution of the original enquiry.
All other counselling records are retained for a period of 3 years after the conclusion of counselling sessions.
